Asurion Japan K.K. launches Japan’s first Smartphone Cleaning Service
Tokyo, Japan, July 19, 2023
Asurion Japan K.K., which provides protection and technical support services for digital device users, offers a cleaning service for smartphones and smartwatches for the first time in Japan*. The service is provided for free through the “Bread and Espresso and Digital Detox Campaign” for one month starting from July 21, 2023 at Bread, Espresso and Machiawase in Shibuya Miyashita Park.
Due to the inflation impact and the growing awareness of sustainability, consumers tend to use the same smartphones and smartwatches for a longer period of time. According to the Consumer Trends Survey released by the Cabinet Office in March 2023, the average period of a smartphone usage has extended every year, and the average period was 4.4 years in the March 2023 survey.
During the campaign, the café users can try the free cleaning service for their smartphones and smartwatches (value of 4,000 JPY) by answering a survey.
By promoting initiatives which help users to reaffirm the value of taking care of their digital devices, Asurion proposes a new digital lifestyle to society.
